About an hour north of where I live. Is the stunning Tawharanui Open Sanctuary. I have hiked over most of the peninsula which includes rocky dropoffs, amazing birdlife, and this stunning white sand beach, Anchor Bay. Probably my most painted beach to date. The water is always crystal clear with good surf.
